AvPosts terms of use
Last updated:
The terms for using AvPosts, the Canadian business aviation job board: for candidates who apply, employers who post and pay for plans, and everyone who visits.
These terms
These terms are an agreement between you and VOL Private Aviation Inc. (VOL Aviation Privée Inc.), a Canadian company based in Quebec that owns AvPosts ("AvPosts", "we", "us"). By using avposts.ca or creating an account, you accept them. If you use AvPosts for an employer, you accept them for that employer and confirm you may do so. Our privacy page explains how we handle personal information.
Language
These terms are offered in English and in French. Both versions have the same effect.
What AvPosts does
AvPosts lists business aviation jobs in Canada and lets candidates apply and employers review applications. Many postings are collected automatically from employers' own public careers pages; others are posted by employers on AvPosts. We are a job board, not an employer, recruiter or agent for either side. We do not guarantee that a candidate gets a job or that an employer fills a role.
Accounts
- Give accurate information and keep it current.
- Keep access to your email and Microsoft account secure; anyone who can read your sign-in codes can use your account.
- One account can be a candidate, a member of one or more employer accounts, or both.
- Tell us right away at [email protected] if you think someone else is using your account.
For candidates
- Using AvPosts as a candidate is free.
- Your profile, documents and answers must be true and yours to share. Do not claim licences, ratings, hours or medical certificates you do not hold.
- When you apply, the employer receives your application (your name, email address, and the résumé and answers you send) and handles it under its own policies. Its hiring decision is its own.
- You decide whether verified employers may invite you to apply. You can turn this off at any time.
For employers
- You may claim and manage only an employer you are authorized to act for. We may ask for proof.
- Postings must be for real, open roles in your organization, and must comply with employment, human rights, pay transparency and immigration law.
- Use applicant information only to consider that person for employment with you, keep it secure, and handle it under the privacy law that applies to you. Do not sell it, add it to marketing lists or share it outside your hiring process.
- You are responsible for everything your team members do in your employer account.
Listings collected from careers pages
Postings marked as collected from an employer's careers page are copied automatically and checked again on a schedule. They may be out of date, incomplete or wrong, for example after the employer closes or edits the role. The employer's own page is the authority; confirm details there before relying on them. An employer can claim its profile to manage its listings, and anyone can report a listing error through the contact form. We may correct, hide or remove any listing.
Paid employer plans
Posting on AvPosts is free. Employer Plus and Employer Pro are paid plans that add reach and tools. Current prices, in Canadian dollars, and what each plan includes are on the employer plans page. The price shown when you subscribe is the price you pay for that subscription period. Annual billing costs CAD $50 a month less than monthly billing.
- Setup fee: a one-time CAD $300 setup fee applies to an employer's first paid subscription. It covers the careers-page embed, distribution onboarding and verifying your listings. It is charged once, not on renewal.
- Billing: card payments are processed by Stripe. A subscription renews automatically at the end of each monthly or annual period until cancelled. Stripe emails a receipt for each payment. If you ask to be invoiced instead, nothing is charged until you confirm.
- Taxes: applicable sales taxes are added where the law requires.
- Price changes: we will tell you by email at least 30 days before a new price applies to your renewal.
- Third-party channels: distribution to other boards depends on those boards. Advertising and promotion costs are quoted separately.
Cancellation and refunds
- You can cancel a paid plan at any time by emailing [email protected] from an address on the employer account. Cancellation stops the next renewal; the plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.
- Payments already made, including the setup fee, are not refunded, except where we decide otherwise or the law requires it.
- If we end a paid plan for a reason that is not your breach of these terms, we refund the unused part of the current period.
Nothing in this section limits any right you have under consumer protection law that cannot be waived.
Acceptable use
Do not:
- post false, misleading, discriminatory or unlawful content, or postings that are not real jobs;
- use AvPosts to collect personal information, send unsolicited messages or recruit for anything other than a real role;
- scrape, copy or resell the site's content or data in bulk, except as our robots.txt allows;
- probe, overload or get around the site's security, rate limits or bot checks;
- pretend to be someone else, or use another person's account;
- upload malware or files you have no right to share.
We may remove content, and suspend or close accounts, that break these terms or put others at risk.
Your content and ours
You keep ownership of what you upload. You give us the right to host, copy, display and send it as needed to run AvPosts, for example to show your posting or send your application. The AvPosts site, software, name and logo belong to its owners. Employer names and logos belong to those employers.
Disclaimers and limits of liability
AvPosts is provided as is and as available. To the extent the law allows, we make no promise that the site will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any listing, profile or compensation figure is accurate.
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, lost profits or lost opportunities, or for the acts of employers, candidates or third-party sites. Our total liability for any claim about AvPosts is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim and CAD $100.
Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded by law, including under consumer protection law that applies to you.
Ending your use
You can stop using AvPosts and delete your account at any time. Sections on content, disclaimers, liability and governing law continue after your account closes.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Quebec and the federal laws of Canada that apply there. The courts of the judicial district of Montreal have jurisdiction over any dispute, except where consumer protection law gives you the right to bring a claim where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We will post the new version here with a new date, and tell account holders by email at least 30 days before a significant change takes effect. If you do not accept a change, you can stop using AvPosts and cancel your plan before it takes effect. Continuing to use AvPosts after that means you accept the new terms.
